I m using oracle 10gr2 in solaris, i m executing a SQL and the execution time is little bit interesting ...its like 4s then 10sec then 4 sec then 11sec then 4 sec then 10sec like this...

is there any reason for that???

Many reasons, concurrent server cpu workload, disk workload, network workload, client workload...
