Can anyone explain me about closing account periods for inventory and purchasing.

Hi,

Inventory Period Close Navigations:
-----------------------------------
Inventory --> Accounting close Cycle --> Inventory Accounting Periods --> Select the Period which u want to close --> Change stauts to Close.

Purchasing Period Close Navigations:
------------------------------------
Purchasing --> Financing --> Accouting --> Open and Close Periods --> Select Closed/Permenently Closed(If Select the Close you can open later, If you select the Permenently closed you can't open the period again).

dear Sreenivas,

Thanx for reply, But I am asking in real time how we have to do,why becaz lot transactions and po's may be pending.Without posting i cannot close the periods--if want to close i should recieve the goods--in this context i am expecting the reply elaborately.

I don't know anything about Inventory or Purchasing but you could try this:- http://oracle.ittoolbox.com/wiki/howto/

Hi,

I believe you can close the periods even you can't receive the goods. Those A/c Entries will transfer to next period.

Take the Example of Blanket Purchase Agreements, the Blanket PO has been created for 3 years. With in 3 years period you can close the periods multiple times.

I am not sure, the above one is only my guessing.

In case of bpa, if any bpa exists,no problem,but there should not be any release in open.got my point.
