I have installed Oracle10gR2 on Solaris10 and I have created a database. It contains no data.

All init.ora parameter values are default only.
SHMMAX was set to 8GB.

but when i see the o/p of prstat -a, oracle occupies 98% of RAM.

so the system is very slow. pls. help

SHMMAX has been replaced in Solaris 10 by resource controls.
