Can anyone tell how can we flush the database buffer cache without stopping the instance??

In oracle 10g,you can flush buffer pool use alter system flush buffer pool.
In 9i ,you can use alter session set events 'immediate trace name flush_cache';

Oh.. just practicing stuff.. I am preparing for my OCP exams. So, doing some practical sessions and checking different If-Then scenarios. It would help me in better understanding of the subject.
