After installation of Oracle10G REL 2 on Solaris 10 Platform what are the Server Parameters should be configured for better performance of over all database as post installation task? What are parameters should be kept as default? What should be optimal size of SGA and how to calculate that if I implement ASMM ?

Regards,

Alina

If you believe that there is a one size fit all answer, I have a bridge I'll sell you?
Might the answer depend upon number & speed of the CPUs
Might the answer depend upon amount of RAM
Might the answer depend upon number disks
Might the answer depend upon number of concurrent users
Might the answer depend upon OLTP vs. DW
Might the answer depend upon any number of other variables?

This was interesting...you know, where I'm from (Florida, USA), we have a similar saying. But we say "I've got some swamp land to sell you".

I have installed Oracle10G REL2 on Solaris 10. My memory size is 4GB and I would like to set DB_KEEP_CACHE_SIZE 300MB, then what are the other variables should I consider for setting up SGA_TARGET to implement ASMM Is there any such formula to calculate total SGA for better performance?

Alina
