QA Testing Consultant
BellSouth involved in business process to provide Internet, electronic commerce services (dial-up and dedicated connections) and for selling the web space to maintaining the customer hardware equipment and providing network services, heating and cooling. BellSouth provides Basic and Premium services to the customers.
This project involves mainly Remedy application, which controls five modules and automates the process.
Remedy software is used to compile all the required documents (includes business, system, design, delivery, tables, flowcharts and worksheets). BellSouth utilizes Remedy for workflow and problem management.
Remedy examines the modules and their functions associated with the application and product.
Remedy is connecting to Oracle via its virtual IP address. Suncluster software is monitoring the Remedy, Oracle and Unix servers. When any one of the components is down the cluster, it shuts down the system and then starts the process on the other server. In testing, the longest time for fail-over was 2 minutes.
1. Ordering: Gives unique Order Id and assures the required fields are present in the sales order form.
2. Provisioning: Looks after the total installation process
3. Asset and Change management: Assures the customer logs and monitor if any changes required in the process.
4. Problem Management: Issues the tickets if there is any problem occurs in the process.
5. Billing: Maintain the rates based on service type, time consumption and the Cage and Rack (space) facilities.
