Immediately after initiating the instalation process an error message occurs:
"Jrew has caused an error in JAVAI.DLL. Jrew will now close."
Any possible solutions would be much appreciated, thanks.

Just take a dump of oracle 8i on to HDD,and rename symcjit.dll to symcjit.old and run the install/setup.
