Hi,
Any one can explain when this problem occers and what's the solution for this.

Problem :- We are getting the following error,

"[[Microsoft]][[ODBC driver for Oracle]]Failure enlisting in Resource Manager (0x8004D00A)"

Servers
1) Oracle 8.1.6 server
2) Oracle 8.1.6 client
3) IIS5.0 web & Application Server, Components in VB & web pages in ASP.

Don't use Microsof's ODBC driver for Oracle. Use Oracle's ODBC driver. If you insist on using Microsoft's then you might want to download the most up-to-date version of Microsoft's. Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) is what you are looking for. Note that the client has nothing to do with Oracle when using Microsoft ODBC. Microsoft's ODBC does not support all Oracle data types.

Ok, I understand. But, is it the only cause of this error? I have some problems, but only sometimes. Sometimes the system is OK, sometimes is not.
How can I check if it is the cause (missing data types...)?

Grant, we do update the system with lates vertion of MDAC always, but this keep coming up once in a while. This is also not common error but when it comes few calls to components after that also will fail, irrespective of what the calls are!!
Remember the calls made from an explorer to a component on MMC which in turn calls Oracle DB!

1. It error comes while updates then it can be error in your transaction handling.
2. Oracle XA and MSDTC are not able to resolve failed transactions.

This error would go if you restart Oracle services. I am not sure what is the solution to the issue. I think you need help from an expert DBA to tune database.

In past we had resolved this error by reviweing our transactional code.

I have starting seeing it again in one of our application and symptoms are same after thsi erro comes, the server dlls do not respond to more requests.
