Try to install Oracle 8.1.7 client on a W2000 professional maschine. The installation stops after
a few seconds when i click on the install-button.
Anyone with an idea?

I guess the system is a pentium 4 system. Then you can'tinstall frm the CD. Copy all cd contents to hard drive and then remove the file SYMCJIT.DLL from all sub directories and then start the installation.

oracle hangs on machines with p4 processors:
copy only the contents of the cd to a temp dir on yer server, search and rename all the symcjit.dll to .old
then run setup from the dir you made
