I�m trying to learn java...i installed jdk1.2.2. when i try to run javac ...it reports an error of file symcjit.dll . can anyone help me? thanks.

If you a running a Pentium 4, there is a problem with JIT on these machines. Keep an eye on the Sun Site for a patch.

just rename symcjit.dll to symcjit.dll.old

You have to download JRE 1.2.2_011 or later version on the pentuim 4 PC's this solves the problem
