I am glad I am not the only one. Oracle 8i installed fine on a premio 2000 box but not on two brand new dell systems. I didn't realize the processor was the problem I wasn't sure if it was somehow dell related. Will try the fix posted previously.

Ok, I've got the same problem.
However I just want to remove the oracle install.
The installer just crashes out when I try to un-install anything...
How would I go about manually removing this?
any help would be appreciated, or a reference to a place that can.
