The basic difference between C and Proc are SQL statements and PLSQL blocks in addition to the C code.

In proc embedded SQL statements and PLSQL blocks may be included. All C programing laguage capabilities can be used in addition to SQL and PLSQL. The pro *C files are to be pre compiled so as to get .C files. The generated C files can be compiled in VC++ / C++ / C compilers or in UNIX and executable files can be generated.
