Hi All,
Could anyone tell me the difference between the two libraries listed in the subject. I understand that they are shared and static version respectively of the same library, but I'm not sure.
When I do the linking using the two libraries (libclntsh and libclntst8), then the difference in size of the resulting executable is huge (which is of course due to the shared and the static nature of the two libraries). But is there any other difference also between the two? Are there any other implications of using the shared version over the static version (apart from the env. variables like SHLIB_PATH,LD_LIBRARY_PATH etc.)?
Thanks in advance,
Manish
