Hi,
i set the
set_block_property('block1',default_where,:block1.deptno);

if deptno already exists in the database it is executing the query. if the deptno is other then it is asking to save the record. how to prompt the user if he enters invalid deptno?.

before setting this property just check where the user enetered deptno exists or not.
