hi..

After successful installation of Oracle Database 8.1.5 on PIII (Windows XP) and database is created ... but the problem begins after booting PC and database is found to be inactive (like in Admiistrative Services  List it is shown that it is "Starting...".. for ever....

Solution .. plz..???

It may be this -

"After you install the MS04-011 Security Update for
Microsoft Windows on a computer that runs Oracle
database 8i, the computer may stop responding during
the startup process."
